Busy Busy Busy

The summer has been so busy around here!! C was a JR Lifeguard this summer. C also had Boy Scout Camp. While at camp L and I had VBS. I was the crew leader for 3 year olds! Then both kids had music camp. It is a week long camp at our church.
Tonight there are some of the Boy Scouts over working on their Personal Fitness merit badge. It is one that is required for the rank of Eagle. Still hoping that C will achieve Eagle in the next year! He has a few merit badges left and his project to complete. I can't wait either!!
School begins Wednesday!! Yippee!!!

Summertime

The summer is well underway and has it ever been busy!! First of all I haven't had my computer running since the end of May. So I am soooo happy to have it back again!!
C is working as a Jr. Lifeguard this summer he loves it!! He went to Boy Scout camp in June and while he was at camp L and I went to Vacation Bible School. Now next week is music camp for both kiddos. What will I ever do with all of that time!! Today I am going to finally get our plane tickets for our cruise in August. Can't wait to go. There have been some really stressful times in our house lately. We had already committed to the cruise before the poop hit the fan so we are kind of stuck going. But it will be nice to get away alone together for a weekend.
L is doing the summer session of Hip Hop this summer. She has a different teacher and really likes him. He is so hyper!!
Speaking of which it is time to chase them out of the pool and get ready for dance class. Don't worry I can see them out through the arcadia door to the pool. It is an above ground that is only 18' accross and 4' deep. They both can reach no problem. I also have to take home L's best friend on our way too!!

Disney weekend!

This past weekend C's band traveled to California for a cpmpetition & then to Disneyland. They received a GOLD for their performance. We have great friends that live in California so C and I crashed there. I left right after taking the kids to school on Friday & C went on the bus with the band. On the way there I had to stop in Palm Springs at the outlet mall. Only went to 1 store! I have wanted a Coach purse FOREVER. But, can't bring myself to spen that kind of money so I went to the outlet store. I got myself a purse and wallet and even found a cute pink purse for L. And all 3 only cost $150 with tax!! Cheaper than the 1 purse alone!! This is C with his girlfriend E at the competition!!

These are some of our friends. Their oldest daughter broke her leg jumping off a roof. So she was able to go through Disneyland in a wheelchair. Which also gave us head of the line privelages. only these 3 came with us. The wife had to work and the 2 brothers had commitments to drum and bugle core. I was so glad that the daughters and hubby could come share the day with us.
This is C with the oldest daughter. Aren't they so cute together!! They are only 6 months apart and get a long so great!! They have so much fun when they are together!!

Weekend was busy!!

Sorry can't get this to go where I want it to. This is C with Phil Vassar at Country Thunder!! This is L with Phil Vassar at Country Thunder. Her and I went to the VIP section for his concert. He touched her had 3 times!! The last time was during "Another Day in Paradise" and he hled her had for awhile and sang to her. She was up on the jumbo tron.
C won 1st place in his schools Science Fair! At the award assembly he got a nice certificate as well as a trophy. That is his project behind him!

Last weekend was sooo busy!! There was Country Thunder. Which is 4 days of concerts!! Thurday we went out there (which is 45 minutes away) after C wrestling match. He won 2 out of 3!!! Then Friday we had to come back into town for the kids to go to school. After school it was time to go back out there. Saturday morning we came back to town again because the kids and I had plans. C had lifeguard training, L Brownie event, and I went to the Women's Expo with my sis! After we went back out and stayed there until Monday morning!

Not been here in awhile

L got a new bike since finally learning how to ride without training wheels!
Today at Kids Club the Reptile Man was there. This is H with a 13 year old rhinocerous iguana. He also got to pet it after. He loved the lizards and snakes that were there!

I know I know. I haven't been here in quite some time. The days just go by so quickly. C is doing much better this quarter so we allowed him to wrestle. Unfortunatley it isn't quite enough. He became ineligable to wrestle in todays meet due to his math grade falling below a C. And his coach has told him to go and talk to his teacher to see about extra work or something because since this is AIMS testing week there really hasn't been any gradeable work to be able to raise his grade with. If not then he was told to go and talk to coach and he would try. This week hasn't been very happy. My brother and sister in law were expecting a baby boy. At 20 weeks she started having contractions and became fully dialated so she had to deliver him. He didn't make it though. The kids were really upset that they aren't going to have a new baby cousin. Meanwhile I have been busy this week with my 2 1/2 year old nephew. Hope to write more often!!

Weekend

This weekend was pretty good. Actually didn't have anything planned. Saturday we hung out at the house and then met my Mom for lunch and headed to the mall. L talked Grandma into taking C home with her so that she could have a friend spend the night. C had to acolyte in church early this morning and I didn't want to have to get an extra up early. Today I went to a neat book store. Couldn't find what I was looking for me but I did pick up 3 books for L. When I got home we walked with the girls up to Jack in the Box for lunch and then to Supstition Harley just to look around. It is the beginning of Bike Week so there was a lot of people there. Then I picked up C and needed to get to evening church early. He is finally working on his Religious Emblem for Boy Scouts. He has to do this with a pastor. He doesn't feel comfortable with ours so he has decided that he wanted to do it with the pastor that had been teaching at a baptist church we go to in the evenings. Kind of funny though since this pastor was my boyfriend when I had met my husband! Talk about weird!! I am just thankful that he found someone to do this with. The week ahead already looks busy!

Band and stuff

C's band had a fundraiser at Gold Canyon Golf Resort to raise money for their upcoming trip to Disneyland. They are playing "We are all in this together" from the High School Musical. That is what they will be playing when they march in Disneyland in April.

This week has been a little nutty and will stay that way through May. C started wrestling at his junior high. So L gets out of school at 3 then C at 5:10. Plus all the other stuff that we already had going on. He needs to keep his grades up though to keep wrestling!

Since L starts school an hour late on Mondays I decided to take her and my nephew to the park before school. They had fun being silly!!

Court of Honor

Last night was my sons troops Court of Honor....

It was a little sad though. I realize that the Scoutmaster moved the ceremony up a month and a half but there were only 5 boys that achieved rank and 5 boys that earned merit badges. Thankfully Corey achieved rank, Life. As well as her earned 5 merit badges!!

Zoo Day

Since Friday was the last day of Spring Break and with me getting sick in the middle of the week I decided to take the troops to the zoo. WHAT A MISTAKE that was!! There must have been at least 20 school busses there!! The parking lot and overflow lots were full. We found a spot and made our way inside. It was elbow to elbow people everywhere. You couldn't even see any of the animals because there were so many people. So we did 1 loop had a picnic lunch and left!! I think that was on record the shortest zoo trip ever for us. We were in and out in less that 2 hours!! And considering it take me anout 40 minutes to get there we spent just about the same amount of time driving as we did there!! Good thing though with the price of gas I combined a trip to the Scout Shop in with this trip. Since I am the Advancement chair for my sons troop I needed the last of the awards for tomorrows Court of Honor.

Ok still trying to figure this out....the 1st picture is my son, daughter, and nephew outside monkey village. My nephew likes watching them from the platform rather than going in.

I will try the zoo again soon...my nephew loves to pet the sting ray and I think that they are only here through April. Besides that it gets too hot much longer after that anyway. He loves to go to the zoo. And of course he has to walk!! Well most of the way!!

Spring Break!!

It is only Day 2 of Spring Break and Corey is already bored!! Last night was Scouts. He had his Board of Review for his Life rank and it was approved!!! Now he has to get serious about getting merit badge completed. I want him to do that and then work on his Eagle Project. Too much together he doesn't get anything done. Tonight he has an Order of the Arrow ceremony for a Cub Scout packs crossover. He then has another one tomorrow.
Lynsey has dance tonight but I am not sure she is going to make it. She hasn't moved off the couch all day. She is feeling a little under the weather. So we will see how she is feeling when it gets closer to when she is to go.
I still have my nephew all week so no sleeping in for me!! Well, except for today he went to his friends for the day. So I had time to catch up on all of the Scout stuff I needed to since we are having a Court of Honor on Monday night.

What a Sunday!!

Lynsey is in Hip Hop dance. She had an all day clinic today that Chris took her to. Corey and I did some other fun stuff and met them for the final performance. This is Lynsey with Confusion. He was in the dance crew Automatic Respose that was on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. However they were voted off early! Yes that is Lynsey! She had a hard day of dancing and fell asleep on the way home. She had tons of fun thoush!

Corey and I went to the Scottsdale Art Festival. We had a lot of fun there. He was really neat. He was asking the artists questions and really enjoyed going! It was an absolutley gorgeous day outside. Unfortunaltely I got a little bit of sun. Not much just a little pink. I am sure it will ache a little bit tomorrow though1!

After the festival Corey and I had lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory. It was yummy! He was funny though. When the waitress brought the bill Corey asked if he could pay with his good looks!! The lady just laughed and said that she wished it worked that way!! We had a really nice Mommy / Son day.

This coming week they have Spring Break but I am still watching Haydin. Corey can't wait to be able to hang out with his baby cousin (as he calls him) all week! They really do get a long! He is a little mad though because Haydin has a birthday lunch to go to on Tuesday with his friend so we won't have him then. Not sure what we will do all week. I know that they want to go to the zoo and the park. On Friday we have plans to see Horton Hears a Who with Kim and her kids. My nieces don't have their Spring Break until next week but they have a 1/2 day on Friday.

Been awhile...catching you up!

I know I know...it has been awhile since I have last posted. Corey stayed home for 2 days from school. Then Chris was home from work with the same yuck. Thursday Lynsey's was sent home from school saying that she had pink eye. Took her to the doctor and it wasn't.



Wednesday we went to a parent meeting for Kumon math. If anyone has had their kid in Kumon or knows anyone that has please send me a note. Corey needs some extra help in math but Kumon is an expensive commitment.

Wednesday we went to Corey's Twilight festival at his school. I wanted to stop and get my camera but Corey talked me out of it. Big mistake! He wanted to go because the science fair projects were on display. We walked in the gym and his was moved to a table. We walked to the table and he was so excited...his had a big gold star with the words "First Place Corey" He couldn't believe it. So now the project is in the library. He also had his picture taken for the paper and at the award ceremony he will receive a trophy! See why forgetting the camera was a big mistake? Now I will have to wait until the award ceremony to get pictures...bummer!

Sorry this is so long...and boring. I was just trying to catch everyone up from my week!

sick

Well, the sickness is going around....poor Corey is its latest victim! The poor thing hasn't kept anything down since last night! At least he is old enough to make it to the bathroom. He stayed home from school today and tomorrow isn't looking so good either.

Day at the park!

Today since it was so nice out we took the kids to the park. We met one of Lynsey's good friends up there too. Lynsey has not quite mastered riding on 2 wheels yet. But she is sure doing a good job at it today!

Corey has been a pro on his bike forever...here he is looking cool!
Corey and Brett brought their rockets up to the park to launch them. They each got to launch once until the friendly park ranger told us to leave. However he did tell us a place to go so we are going to try there tomorrow.
Chris and Brett's Dad were spinning all of the kids on the carousel. The kids loved going fast.

Other than going to the park it was a pretty quiet day. Corey and I worked on his science fair project for a while. It is due on Monday so we need to finish it up tomorrow. After the park we went and got Lynsey a rocket. So when Brett calls tomorrow to go she will have her own rocket to launch too. Of course she picked a cool one but when we got home it was missing pieces. So off to 3 Wal-Marts trying to get the same one. Finally at Wal-Mart #3 we picked out a different 1. Her main concern was how high it would go. She wanted the 1 that went the highest. Corey has had 1 that he made in Cub Scouts a long time ago. It went up pretty high! But, Brett had a little 1 and we couldn't believe how high it went. It was lost in the desert. Chris, Lynsey, & Brett hunted for it and just as they were going to give up Chris found it. Brett was bummed that he didn't get to launch his big 1 before we were shooed away. But, tomorrow looks like a good launch date!

Not much

Lynsey on her quad. Her and Daddy sanded and painted it. She picked out the color it has sparkles in it as well. She also used her Christmas money to buy her helmet...pink flames of course! She is really a good rider! And she has fun!!

Today there hasn't been a lot of activity. Thursdays I like...nothing planned...well for now until Corey starts wrestling. I watched my nephew this morning. Since tomorrow is his parents wedding anniversary we used poster board and paint and made them a huge card and then a big heart shaped peanut butter cookie. He was happy! We then played FOREVER in the backyard after trying to clean up Corey's room a little. Haydin learned "Corey is a piggy!" He was so cute! So with all that we headed to "Donalds" for a Happy Meal. I think that whatever ick he had the other day he was so kind to pass to me though. All afternoon my tummy isn't doing so well. I am so happy that the monkey's are playing so nice together! Thank you!!

440 boxes of Girl Scout cookies!!

Yesterday was quite the day! After school it was a rat race!! Lynsey gets out of school at 2:55 and Corey at 3 pm at 2 different schools...so it is always rough. But yesterday was even more. At 4:30 Corey was meeting his Scoutmaster for his final Scoutmaster conference....this was for his Life rank and next is Eagle!! Then Lynsey has joined Young Champions of America's Hip Hop Dance Crew. Last night was her 1st class and she loved it!! But it started at 6 pm quite a ways from when Corey was. So I had to feed the kids really early. We made mini pizzas so we all got to make our own. They were yummy!! But, since they ate so early they were hungry by the time we made it home. Tonight is Girl Scouts for Lynsey and Corey has a band parent meeting about the upcoming trip to Disneyland.
Interesting though...we had gotten our Scouting magazine in the mail a few days ago but was just too busy to sit down and read it. While at his Scoutmasters house he showed me an interesting article. It was about the Scoutmaster and his wife and there is a really nice picture of them with some of the scouts on a field trip and Corey is in the picture!!!! For those of you scout leaders that get this magazine take a look at page 8...yep the most handsome boy in the picture belongs to me!! For those that aren't leader I am going to try to add the picture to this blog...but the magazine is sent home to ALL registered scout leaders accross the country. So it is quite the honor. My nephew just went home so I thought I would blog quick and now I really should put my laundry away. Talk to you tomorrow!

New at this!

This is my first blog. My good friend Jolene has bugged me for awhile now to start blogging. So I finally had a free minute to see how this all works. My I have 2 kids who are very active and have been marriend for over 12 years!! Life is crazy so I love the days that after school is over that there isn't anything planned for that evening. It doesn't happen often so it is nice when it does!! I hope to post here often and also figure out how to add pictures! I look forward to sharing my life with you and hope that you share yours with me!!
